Fr Michael Curran MSC ( Superior general ), visits the ACM

During his recent visit to Australia, Superior General of the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart, Michael Curran took time out to visit the ABORIGINAL CATHOLIC MINISTRY at their new Centre in Alexandria, Sydney. The Centre has relocated from Swanson St in Erskineville to their new location at 77 Buckland Street Alexandria. The Centre has been tastefully refurbished. Brenda McDonnell, Coordinator, spoke of the happiness of the local community in the support that they were receiving from the MSC, and how the work had grown from the early days when Frank Fletcher MSC started working there. Fr Curran MSC spoke of how pleased he is to see MSC involved in this important ministry to the Aboriginal people of inner Sydney, and its outreach at the Healing House at Razorback, near Picton NSW ( where Barbra Asplet is Coordinator ), and the La Perouse Church and Office (where Elsie heiss is Coordinator) . He congratulated everyone for all that they were achieving. MSC are invited to visit the new Centre and see for themselves what is being done and the vision for the future. Ed.
