Fr Michael Curran
MSC ( Superior general ), visits the ACM
During his recent visit to Australia, Superior General of the
Missionaries of the Sacred Heart, Michael Curran took time out to
visit the ABORIGINAL CATHOLIC MINISTRY at their new Centre in Alexandria,
Sydney. The Centre has relocated from Swanson St in Erskineville
to their new location at 77 Buckland Street Alexandria. The Centre
has been tastefully refurbished. Brenda McDonnell, Coordinator,
spoke of the happiness of the local community in the support that
they were receiving from the MSC, and how the work had grown from
the early days when Frank Fletcher MSC started working there. Fr
Curran MSC spoke of how pleased he is to see MSC involved in this
important ministry to the Aboriginal people of inner Sydney, and
its outreach at the Healing House at Razorback, near Picton NSW
( where Barbra Asplet is Coordinator ), and the La Perouse Church
and Office (where Elsie heiss is Coordinator) . He congratulated
everyone for all that they were achieving. MSC are invited to visit
the new Centre and see for themselves what is being done and the
